NEWS BULLETIN NOVEMBER 7, 2022 FFA members your fruit & cheese sales sheets are due to Mr. McCauley today. There will be a wrestler/parent meeting on Thursday, at 5:30 in the Iowa-Grant Cafeteria. Reminder to FB and VB players: The athletic banquet is tomorrow evening, with VB beginning at 6:15. There are no band lessons today. MS & HS band students: bring your chrome book to class today. There will be a very brief meeting right after school for all national honor society members in Ms. Smith’s room.

Yesterday, our State FFA Officer, Jerimiah Ihm, visited the Highland FFA. They had lots of great discussion on where our Chapter is headed and activities/events that our Chapter could host in the future. He was well received by the Agriculture classes as well as our FFA Officers. Thank you, Jeremiah!

Due to our #hcscardinals Elementary gym being occupied on the day of the scholastic book fair, the Elementary students got the opportunity to join the High School PE Class! Each High School student was teamed up with two Elementary students to join them in playing pin guard, a game where each group gets a bowling pin and dodge balls are scattered around the gym. The group must work together to protect their pins while also collecting dodge balls to try and knock down other groups' pins. This activity encouraged teamwork and gave the younger students an opportunity to interact with positive role models!!

NEWS BULLETIN OCTOBER 24, 2022 Congratulations to our regional Champions! The Lady Cardinals move on to the Sectional Semi Final vs. Barneveld here on Thursday. Tickets are on sale now. Stop in the office or see Mrs. Michek. Tickets are $7.00. The Josten’s rep will be here tomorrow. He will meet with Seniors at 2:15, and Freshmen and HS students who are interested in purchasing a letter jacket at 2:25.

NEWS BULLETIN OCTOBER 18, 2022 Good luck to the VB Team in their regional game against Cassville. Game time is 7:00. Admission is $6.00 for everyone 6 and up and passes of any kind are not accepted. Reminder to MS boys going out for basketball: Be sure to turn in your paperwork so that you are able to practice when basketball starts on the 31st. Picture retakes are on Thursday morning this week. If you need a retake and have not signed up through the Jostens portal, please notify the office. Jostens will be here next week. They will meet with seniors at 2:15, Freshmen and HS students interested in purchasing a letter jacket at 2:25. Some headphones were turned into the office. Stop in to see if they belong to you. Reminder-Wednesday is not a late start day. School begins at 8:00 am. ELEM: The Scholastic Book Fair is here! There are so many NEW books to choose from and the choice is all yours! NEWS BULLETIN OCTOBER 14, 2022 Good luck to the FB team against Riverdale! Kickoff is at 7:00. Seniors & school parents: please be checking your email over the next few days regarding your parent/senior photo day and time. Any students interested in going to Ag Day next Thursday at South West Tech, needs to see Mr. McCauley by the end of this week. ELEM: Attention All Students: Who is your favorite book character? You can participate in a creative pumpkin contest to illustrate your character on a pumpkin. Remember, you can paint your pumpkin or add different things to your pumpkin to create your favorite character, but please NO CARVING of pumpkins. Return your pumpkin to school on Tuesday, October 18th for judging as well as being displayed at the Scholastic Book Fair. The countdown to the Book Fair is on! From Tuesday, October 18th to Thursday, October 20th the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the Elementary Gym. There will be hundreds of awesome book options that you get to choose from. We can’t wait to welcome you to the BEST! WEEK! EVER!

There are many books overdue, check the due date and renew or return. Flu vaccination forms are due today. Please bring your form to the office asap. It is starting to get colder outside which means snow is coming. Any high school student or staff member that would like to get in on the Snow Competition, please see Mrs. Ramel by the end of this week! There will be a meeting for MS & HS students going on the Washington DC trip, in Mr. Pulvermacher’s room at 3:15 on Friday.
