Good luck to the boys’ basketball team tonight. JV will play Mineral Point beginning at 6:00 and the varsity will play Weston. Tomorrow’s FFA dress up day is Farmer Day. Dress like a farmer. Aggie Feud has two new winners. There were no students that had the top 4 answers in order. When going with those with the best answers and the tiebreakers there was still a tie. The two winners are Gabe Benish and Macey Kraisinger. The top answers for what you buy at the Highland concessions are: 1. Mountain Dew 2. Popcorn 3. Pizza 4. Hot Dog 5. Nachos 6. Skittles 7. Come join us for State Wrestling Pep Rally. Help us send off Mason Welsh #106, Jason Sedbrook #152, and Cal Dorota #170 Thurdsay February, 27 at 10 am in the Highland HS Gym. Pep Rally at IGHS will be at 11:15 same morning. All 3 wrestlers will be wrestling Thursday night stating at 7 pm in Kohl Center.

NEWS BULLETIN FEBRUARY 21, 2020 Congratulations to the boys’ BB team on their win over Belmont! Great job guys! Any HS boys who are planning to play baseball, please sign up in the office. Good luck to the GB team against Potosi/Cassville! Jv game time is 6:00. Students and staff, please leave the parking open in front of school for senior citizens for this evening’s game. The bus for Sectional Wrestling at Westby tomorrow leaves at 6:15. Good luck guys! Next week is National FFA week. Monday’s dress up day is Tractor Wars. Wear your favorite tractor color.

Middle School solo/ensemble has been rescheduled for Monday, February 24 at River Ridge. The bus will still leave at 2:30. Performance times may be slightly altered, otherwise everything should be the same.

Forensics scheduled for today have been cancelled due to weather. All after school activities have been cancelled for tonight.

MS Solo/Ensemble Tonight in River Ridge has been postponed due to weather. Rescheduled date TBD. Wrestling practice has been cancelled at Iowa-Grant.

Friday, February 14th we will be running a two hour late start due to the weather conditions. Stay Warm!

Florida Fresh Strawberries dipped in chocolate is the treat of the month.

The 4th, 5th, 6th 7th & 8th grade girls will have basketball practice from 5:30-7:00. MS & HS Students: All phy ed lockers need to be cleaned out by Friday. All Items must be taken home and washed. Good luck to the Wrestlers tonight against Darlington/Black Hawk. Please keep the parking open in front of school for Senior citizens for this evening’s event. FFA Movie Night is after school today. We will be in the Ag Room right after school watching a movie and offering hotdogs, chips and soda. Please come and enjoy. There will be a senior class meeting during resource. You will be discussing your senior trip and other things. High School band/choir members: ice cream drink money will be due on Wednesday this week. Any 5th - 8th grade girls that plan on attending the softball skills camp on Wednesday mornings, turn your forms into Coach Campbell or your teacher by Wednesday. The 6th 7th & 8th grade girls will have basketball practice on Thursday at 5:30.

For the first time this year we have a tie even after the tie breaker. The two winners are Colton Frost and Baylee Carter. They got the complete order correct. The correct order of what caused the Spanish student to cry on the Spanish trip was: 1st. Charger, 2nd Phone, and 3rd Makeup There were 5 students that had the correct answers before the tiebreaker. Highland 3rd graders enjoyed their annual Pioneer Day this week! They spent time doing crafts, learning line dances, doing some basic cooking and learning about how life was like on the frontier. For Grace Pustina's senior project she has organized a unified basketball game with students from Highland and the Special Olympics. This special event will take place between the JV and Varsity girls' basketball games this evening (roughly 6:30pm). Come show your support for Grace and these athletes as they showcase their skills.
