We are thankful for the time we get to spend each and everyday serving the students of the Highland community. It's been said before, but 2020 is proof "it takes a village to raise a child." We are honored to be part of this village, Highland truly is a special place. Thanksgiving might look different this year, but there is still so much to be thankful for!

Friendly reminder TODAY is the last day to order from the online book fair! https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/cptoolkit/homepage.do?method=homepage&url=highlandelementaryschool13

Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child's art. There are over 60 products and many are less than $15. These make great gifts and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school. Click on the link below and enter the online order code shown on your child's order form or to search for your child's artwork. Then, have fun shopping!
https://arttoremember.com/school/9PXAJ6
When at our customized Art to Remember website you should only need to enter your students name to gain access to view personalized items, but if your are having issues please email Mrs. Ginger Halverson at ghalverson@highland.k12.wi.us. I do have individual codes for students, but I don't believe it is necessary for ordering. Also if you would like items in time for Christmas I would recommend having items delivered to your home. There is a flat $6.95 shipping fee, but if your order is over $60 there is free shipping.

Please call by 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 30 for meals to be picked up November 30 through December 4. Pick up time is 10:00 each morning.
Please watch your email for any updates. Remind your child(ren) to watch school email for information teachers may share regarding assignments or materials that need to be picked up at school. The Health Officer for Iowa County shared the following earlier this week: “As the COVID situation in Wisconsin worsens and hospitals continue to surge to their limits, Wisconsin Hospital Association and the Stop the COVID Spread! Coalition released a somber ad and the attached press release yesterday.” The ad can be viewed here and the press release is linked here.
Please consider staying at home and not gathering with anyone outside of immediate family. The spread of COVID-19 is rapidly increasing because people are contagious without symptoms. We have many families in our district with one or more members who are positive. If you or your family are quarantined, please follow protocols to prevent the spreading of the virus. Notify the school if your child is diagnosed with COVID-19 or is a close contact to someone who was diagnosed with COVID-19. Encourage good habits: frequent handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, use of face coverings in public, and staying home as much as possible. If a parent or any household member has been tested for COVID and are waiting for results, remain at home along with all family members until results are back. If positive, the health department will instruct you and household members on isolation and quarantine dates.
Thank you,
Josh Tarrell
Principal
